Public transport in Moscow in Sain-Petersburg

First thing i need to say - both cities have huge traffic problems, rush hours are from the early morning till late eve, thus in my humble opinion the only "really fast" transport is the subway.
Anyway easiest way to find best route from point-to-point is to use this and this pages for Moscow and Saint-Petersburg transportations correspondingly.
Russian subway("metro" in russian) is not similar to other subways over the world. It was built when country name was USSR and subway was a symbol of USSR power and style. Most of central subway stations have magnificent interiors. But be ready that navigation across stations (transfer from line to line especially) will not be clear and easy.
